Sun Studio

Right across the street from Marshall Arts lays the Mecca of rock and roll. Sun Studios is a mere stone’s throw from the studio where I paint and make art. Certainly the energy of rocks past seeps into the building where me and my cohorts have it going on. Elvis, Jerry lee and JC would be happy to know we are keeping the spirit of rock and roll alive in the neighborhood where it all went down.

Marshall Arts

My current artistic home is the infamous Marshall Arts located at 639 Marshall Avenue in sunny crosstown Memphis. It is directly next to the Crump-Pageant Antique showroom and right across the street from the insanity of “the Spot”. About 12 artists current have their studios in this building. The art ranges from the glasswork of Suzy Hendrix to ceramics and painting. We have a gallery space that Delta Axis uses for monthly shows from artists around the US and the world. The space was created by Mr. Pinkney Herbert, a fine painter, and someone who goes out of his way to help out artists in the community. The gallery is open on Saturdays from 11a.m. to 5p.m. and by appointment. Please come visit one of the shows or our annual show with open studios.
